Ride to Daibutsu, Part 1
The first half of a day ride south from Chiang Mai — the superhighway, Lamphun and Mae Tha, and the first sight of Doi Phra Chan.
The ride south is mostly one long road: out of Chiang Mai on the superhighway, past Lamphun, then the straight through Mae Tha with the fields on either side and the hills beginning to show.
This is the first half of the day, before the temple — the bridges, the trucks, the sign for Mae Tha, and the hill with the white chedi getting closer.
The second part is the temple itself, and the ride home.
